The Dutch housing market continues to tighten, and concerns persist regarding the limited number of homes in the pipeline, as the number of issued new construction permits remains below the level required to mitigate the housing shortage.
With the recent rate cut by the ECB, it is expected that investor interest will pick up for the remainder of 2024, possibly resulting in tightening prime net initial yields by the end of the year.
The new Dutch Minister of Housing has her reservations about the newly implemented Affordable Rent Act, but intends to await its precise effects before taking any action.
