Amsterdam Office Market Profilie - Q3 2011

The leasing market picked up somewhat in Q3 compared to the previous quarter, with take-up reaching approximately 57,000 sq m. Volumes were driven by a number of large transactions in the city centre and Zuidas districts. Indeed, > 2,000 sq m transactions accounted for around 60% of take-up, with the largest deal a 12,500 sq m lease by in the city centre. Areas with strong transport links and close proximity to amenities continue to be in high demand. More peripheral locations such as parts of South East and Sloterdijk have become somewhat less desirable, with these two districts accounting for around 50% of total office vacancy in Amsterdam.
